South Coast Hospice's Inpatient Unit serves as backup for our Rural and Urban Home Care Programmes.  

We are one of only four hospices in KwaZulu-Natal with an Inpatient Unit and the only center that offers specialised palliative care in the Ugu Health District of KwaZulu-Natal.

Staffed by a highly trained interdisciplinary team with qualifications in palliative care, our Inpatient Unit offers:

•    Pain and symptom control;
•     Family respite care;
•     Psychosocial and spiritual support;
•     Counseling for patients and their families;
•   24 Hour - Complete end-of-life care.

Medical outpatient clinics are conducted twice a week and patients have the opportunity to consult the hospice doctor
